Sagay City has illuminated its public plaza with Christmas decorations as it officially kicked off its annual “Christmas Fair” celebration on December 11.
The ceremonial switch-on, dubbed “Keep on Shining,” highlighted the themes of resilience and hope, inspiring the community to continue spreading positivity despite challenges faced by the city due to the onslaught of recent calamities.
The event included a multi-sectoral ecumenical prayer service, honoring different denominations and emphasizing the true spirit of the Yuletide season across diverse beliefs.
Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva expressed that the theme signifies that Sagaynons still shine brightly despite adversities and challenges.
“Christmas reminds us that true light is not measured by how bright we appear, but by how much we share,” Cueva said as he officially inaugurated the 2025 Christmas Fair.
Local officials and community leaders joined the ceremonial switch-on, led by Cueva and 2nd District Representative Alfredo Marañon III.
The celebration also featured performances, cultural displays, and a variety of holiday-themed activities, showcasing the talents of local residents.*
