The management of the Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital (AEMSMDH) in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, has temporarily suspended the admission of patients effective immediately, as it has reached full bed capacity.
In a statement, the AEMSMDH management stressed that it will only cater extreme emergency cases.
“The number of patients coming into the Emergency Room has greatly increased,” which resulted in the Triage Tent, Emergency Room, and all wards reaching “full bed capacity,” it said.
The management advised the public “to look for another alternative hospital,” and assured the public of an update once the situation changes.
The AEMSMDH has a 25-bed capacity and is supervised by the Sagay City government.
In January earlier this year, the hospital also suspended admissions after an increase in gastroenteritis cases.*
