
The 1st Casama ni Congressman Thirdy Marañon Football Festival held yesterday at Sagay National High School, Sagay City, where approximately 45 teams in six categories participated was a success, a press release from the organizers said.
The participating teams represented Sagay City, Cadiz City, Bacolod City, and other cities and towns in Negros Occidental.
Under the Born 2016 category, Classico de San Carlos FC was crowned the champion, followed by Sagay City FC-A – first runner-up, and Sagay City FC-B -second runner-up.
Best striker was Raymund Pallera Jr., best defender was Zian Fadrinias, while Nathan Emmanuel was nominated as MVP.
Old Sagay FC was champion, Sagay City FC was first runner-up, and 6100 First Touch was second runner-up, in the Born 2014 category.
Baltazar Lozada was best defender in the category, while best striker was MJ Sanico and Gabrielle Sellado was MVP.
Under the Born 2012 category, 6100 First Touch was champion, CHF was first runner-up, and Sagay City FC-A was second runner-up.
Best striker was Ethan Delubio, best defender was Kurk Bariga, and MVP was Aldwin Membela.
Old Sagay FC was champion of the Born 2010 category, first runner-up was 6100 FT, and second runner-up was Sagay City FC-A.
Best defender was Samuel Santillan, best striker was Zack Roquio, and MVP was Macky Marquez.
Under the Born 2008 category, Old Sagay FC was champion, first runner- up was Legacy FC, and second runner-up was Bulanon.
Best defender was Zack Natavio, best striker was Rio Recuelo, and MVP was Elvis Dequito.
Under the Ladies Open, Cadiz Rushkals-A was champion, first runner-up was Sagay City FC-C, and second runner-up was Cadiz Rushkals-B.
Best defender was Christine Cabungcag, best striker was Alex Diez, and MVP was Daniela Sibuyan.*
