About 105 Sagaynon athletes participated in the first-ever ‘Hoops Clinic’ at the Sagay City Gymnasium on December 1, a press release from Sagay PIO said.
Organized by the office of Councilor Chris Javelosa, the event aims to train local basketball players and develop their skill in this well-loved sport of the Filipinos.
The sports clinic featured Coach Jefferson Codera, a member of the Golden State Warriors camp and a USA-licensed basketball coach.
The event was attended by SK Federation president Marnielin Marco, whose office is a co-partner of the event, together with other city department heads and representatives.
The participants received basketball kits and balls while having a chance to have a whole day of training with Codera.
Councilor Javelosa expressed his gratitude to Codera for sharing his expertise with the Sagaynon basketball enthusiasts.
He also hopes that the program will inspire more local athletes and open opportunities the sport has to offer.*
