The Bacolod Sanggunang Panlungsod is requesting the Philippine National Police through Bacolod City Police director Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, to regulate, inspect or prohibit the sale, distribution, and possession of bladed weapons and other forms of deadly weapons near the vicinities of all academic institution within the jurisdiction of Bacolod City.
The resolution authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella said it has come to the attention of the members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod of Bacolod regarding the recent incident involving violence committed inside academic institutions using bladed weapons.
The sale, distribution, and possession of such bladed weapons and other deadly weapons near the vicinity of schools and other academic institutions are detrimental to the safety and welfare of the students and other members of the academic institutions.
It is requested that the Philippine National Police should regulate the sale, possession, and distribution of bladed weapons and other deadly weapons near the vicinity of academic institutions within the jurisdiction of Bacolod City, to prevent any future violence that are detrimental to the safety and welfare of the youth, the resolution added.*
