Mayor Renato Gustilo yesterday attributed the 7th straight Seal of Good Local Government (SGLG) award given to the San Carlos city government to the “work of the government employees and the city’s private sector.”

“The award is not mine,” stressed Gustilo, who also disclosed that the city government won the award twice during his term as the local chief executive.

As a reward, Gustilo said he brought all his department heads to Manila “to de-stress.”

“I don’t want the city to get an 8th SGLG award. I want to give others a chance too. We want to share it with other local governments as well. We also learn from the good practices of others and tweak it a little to adapt to our needs. I say that to all LGUs that visit San Carlos for benchmarking. It’s hard work and complying with all the documents,” he pointed out.*
