The San Carlos City District Jail (SCCDJ) recorded zero illegal drugs and negative drug test results during a synchronized joint Greyhound Operation and random drug testing conducted last Friday.
The operation, facilitated by jail unit nurses and personnel from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), resulted in negative drug test outcomes for both jail personnel and persons deprived of liberty (PDL).
The surprise inspection yielded no illegal drugs or contraband across the facility.
During the search, all PDLs, including those in the female dormitory, were temporarily moved to a designated open area to allow for a systematic and secure sweep of the cells.
The activity was carried out in coordination with the PDEA, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Barangay III officials, and the San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council.
According to the SCCDJ, the successful results reflect the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s (BJMP) commitment to maintaining a drug-free environment and preventing the entry of prohibited items.
Authorities noted that strict discipline and health protocols were observed throughout the operation, which served to strengthen inter-agency coordination and enhance drug awareness among the jail population.*
