The newly completed P5.9 million Land Transportation Office 6 District Office in Brgy. Punao, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, is now open to serve clients.
It was inaugurated on June 10 by LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante, with the activity also attended by First District Rep. Gerardo Valmayor Jr, San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo, LTO Region 6 director Eric Lenard Tabaldo, Assistant regional director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan and Atty Marsha Bermejo, represented by former Rep. Julio Ledesma IV.
Robbie Andutan-Susas, acting LTO San Carlos City District Office chief, yesterday said that their areas of coverage include but is not limited to Escalante City, Toboso, Calatrava, Salvador Benedicto and Murcia.
Susas said that LTO clients could now apply or renew their Student Driving Permits and Driver’s Licenses, conversion of Driver’s License classification and renewal of motor vehicles registration.
Law Enforcement Services will also be present to the Geographical Area Of Responsibility of the office to ensure road safety in the area, she added.
The 3,783-square meter lot was donated by former Rep. Ledesma IV, facilitated by the late Mariano Antonio Cui III, while the construction of the LTO building was made possible by the Department of Public Works and Highways while Rep. Valmayor provided the funds.
We finally have our very own office after more than 50 years, Susas said.
Also attended the inauguration and blessing activity were Calatrava Mayor Marilyn Era, Board Member Rommel Debulgado, San Carlos City Vice Mayor Cristopher Carmona and other city officials of San Carlos, as well as division chiefs and district heads of various LTO offices.*
