The San Carlos City Government Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (SANCARGEM-MPC) held the groundbreaking and laying of time capsule for its soon-to-rise multi-purpose building at the city’s Centermall Grounds on July 25.

The building is a four-storey mixed-use type with an initial budget of P10 million and will be built within the 500 square meter lot near the city hall acquired by the cooperative in 2019, Ray John Lim, SANCARGEM-MPC Board of Directors chairperson, said, adding that the construction of the building will start either September or October this year.

Lim added that the edifice will be the cooperative’s testament of success for its every member since it has been their dream for 32 years to have their own building.

The city government is temporarily providing the cooperative a space to hold office while serving its members who are city government employees, including job order workers.

San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo congratulated the members for their cooperative’s success and said it’s a start of a new beginning for them to soar higher in their business and service to government employee members.

Also present during the activity were councilors Wilmer Yap, Philip Gerard Maisog, Victoriana Cabili, and Benito Gustilo Jr., as well as former councilor Engr. Clint Mansueto and other members of the cooperative.*
