The entire police force of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental, underwent random drug testing on December 11.
The drug testing aims to ensure that the city police station is drug-free, according to the Philippine National Police.
Non-uniformed personnel assigned at the San Carlos City Police Station were not spared from drug testing, according to police chief Lt. Col. Nazzer Canja.
Similar random drug testing was also conducted last year among the San Carlos City police personnel, which yielded a negative result.
Police officers tested positive for use of illegal drugs may face dismissal from the service.
Canja said the conduct of drug testing among members of the city police force is held annually.*
