The surprise drug testing of 94 workers assigned at the San Carlos Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in Negros Occidental, yielded negative results for the use of illegal drugs, disclosed its head, Joe Rocalex Alingasa.
The 7th round of drug testing of San Carlos City government employees was held last week, which is part of the effort of the administration of Mayor Renato Gustilo to get rid of drug users among the City Hall’s workforce.
Ten job order workers of San Carlos City were fired from their jobs, along with two other regular employees, after testing positive for illegal drugs.
Gustilo earlier said that the two regular employees that tested positive will be subjected to a confirmatory test, and if they are found positive again, it will be up to the Civil Service Commission to order their termination or rehabilitation.
Alingasa said that he has been constantly reminding CDRRMO employees of their liability, should they be involved in the use of illegal drugs.*
