The Army’s 79th Infantry Battalion got a boost in its mobility operations after it received a Toyota HiLux vehicle from the city government of San Carlos in Negros Occidental.
A deed of donation of the P1.6 million vehicle was signed on October 17, between Mayor Renato Gustilo and Lt. Col. Arnel Calaoagan, the 79IB commander.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod of San Carlos City backed the gesture of the city government, by acknowledging the commitment of 79IB to maintain the peace and security of the city.
Calaoagan said the new vehicle would help them carry out their duties in the community.
He also presented a “lantip”, a traditional Negrense tool for harvesting sugarcane, to Mayor Gustilo, as a symbol of gratitude for the city government’s continuous support to the Philippine Army.*
