The city government of San Carlos in Negros Occidental has produced 25 skilled cooks from the different barangays after they completed the 316-hour Cookery NC II training at the Department of Science and Technology Livelihood and Skills Training Center in the city recently.

In the culmination program, which was organized by the Public Employment Service Office and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority for the first batch of scholars at the city hall, Mayor Renato Gustilo urged them to aim higher and upgrade their cooking skills to attract more clients and generate employment if they want to venture into business.

Erel Lim, PESO in-charge, said the local government has been allocating funds to give free Tesda-accredited trainings to individuals as part of the economic interventions which will prepare beneficiaries for the new normal and equip the city with more skilled workers.*
