Charlie’s Art Gallery is currently hosting the latest works of world-class brass sculptor Michael Cacnio.
His solo exhibition “Septième Rebelle”, in collaboration with top fashion designer Robbie Santos, runs from November 25 to December 25 at Italia Restaurant, Paseo Verde, Mandalagan, Bacolod City.
“In this collection, Michael Cacnio explores the intersection of metal and fabric, strength and softness, structure and flow. The works are inspired by Septième Rebelle, a Manila-based fashion house known for its bold silhouettes, fearless craftsmanship, and contemporary reimagining of Filipino heritage. The brand – whose name translates to ‘Seventh Rebel’ – celebrates individuality and rebellion through design, marrying modern tailoring with the spirit of local artistry.”

Cacnio said this is his first time to work on brass and fabric since he has not seen anything like this here. It could be the first in the Philippines. He decided to add some colors into his works, which used to be monochromatic – always in brass or the color of gold. So he decided to collaborate with Santos, a top couturier in Manila, for his latest works.
A Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) awardee in 2006, Cacnio has exhibited in Brussels, New York, Philadelphia, Singapore, Japan, and across Asia and Europe.*
