The San Carlos United Players Association Inc. (SCUPA) in collaboration with the local government of San Carlos through the City Sports Office kicked off its Mayor Rene Y. Gustilo Cup 2022 Basketball Tournament on June 12 at Barangay 2 Covered Court in the city.

The program started with a parade from the public plaza to the venue and the designated playing area, followed by the introduction of the 22 participating teams for the inter-office category.

Gustilo also added P20,000 in cash to the tournament prize in gratitude for the good election turn-out for both local and national candidates especially the Uniteam of BBM-Sara tandem.
