Sea travel from Bacolod, San Carlos temporarily suspended

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Sea travel from Negros Occidental to Iloilo and Cebu was temporarily suspended on Wednesday afternoon due to bad weather.

In an advisory, the Coast Guard Station Northern Negros Occidental suspended sea travel from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental to Toledo City, Cebu due, to rough seas at the northern part of Negros Occidental and Cebu.

Affected were the sea trips of Lite Ferry 1, Lite Ferry 2 and M/C Fastcat M7.

The fast craft of Ocean Jet also suspended its 4 p.m. and 5:30 pm trips from Bacolod to Iloilo and vice versa due to rough seas.

The northeast monsoon and easterlies, according to Coast Guard, caused rough seas at the northern portion of Negros Occidental.

The Coast Guard also advised fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea during inclement weather conditions.*
