The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has again extended the deadlines for the submission of annual financial statements (AFS) and General Information Sheet (GIS), its Bacolod information officer, Clyde Padilla, said.

On August 11, SEC issued a notice that corporations, regardless of their SEC registration or license numbers, will have until September 30 to submit the printed or hard copies of their AFS for the periods ending November 30 and December 31, 2019 to its main and extension offices, she said.

Corporations with fiscal years that ended between January 31 and June 30 will have 30 more days to file the printed or hard copies of their AFS, she added.

All corporations shall comply with SEC’s directive that submissions to the main office shall be made through courier service, she said.

Corporations may also submit the scanned copies of their duly signed and notarized reports through email, she added.

The documents shall be considered received on the date reflected in the Acknowledgment Receipt that the SEC shall send through email, she said, adding that the printed reports shall still be submitted through courier or post office on or before the deadline.

The SEC had been implementing work-from-home and other alternative work arrangements, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Civil Service Commission, to minimize disruption in the delivery of services to the public, she said.

She added that the public may also transact online.*MPE
