A security guard was punched by his drinking buddy and was declared dead on arrival at a hospital in Bacolod City, Thursday.
Leolito Patigdas, 49, and Fritz Moraleja, 35, also a security guard of Barangay Estefania in Bacolod, were at a drinking session when a heated argument ensued between them at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday.
Moraleja punched Patigdas, who fell down. He was brought to the Metro Bacolod Hospital and Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival by an attending physician, a police report showed.
P/Maj. Charles Gever, Station 4 chief, said Moraleja was arrested and is now detained at the custodial facility of the station.
Charges for homicide were filed against Moraleja, before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday, Gever added.
Meanwhile, unidentified burglars ransacked a store at the Circumferential Road in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, at about 6 a.m. Thursday.
About P8,000 in cash and assorted cigarette rims were stolen from Ella Store, owned by Illy Mae Monreal, 55, a police report showed, adding that the suspects destroyed the padlocks of the roll-up door and bent it to gain entrance.
