The Buglas Baybayin held a seminar-workshop on the topic “Kasaysayan ng Baybayin sa Filipinas, Kahalagahan Nito sa Panahon Ngayon at Pagsulat ng Baybayin Iskrips” at the Brainy Paintworks Gallery at 18th Street-San Agustin Drive, Bacolod City Saturday before the opening of the group art exhibit of the Christian Artists National Various Arts Society Sunday.

Architect Daniel Bayles and Elijah Bayles, founders of Buglas Baybayin, were the guest speakers at the seminar, attended by members of Canvas, Babayi visual artists, and writers from the Buglas Writers Circle based in Negros Occidental.

The “Nanay, Salamat sa Pag Palangga” exhibit will run until May 15*

Meanwhile, the group show, held in partnership with Babayi Arts Group, titled, “Nanay, Salamat sa Pag Palangga”, will run until May 15 in line with the celebration of Mother’s Day, and features the works of visual artists Arthur Bayles, Miriam Bayles, Daniel Bayles, Elijah Bayles, Jasper Bayles, Karen Bayles, Chrysee Samillano, Chin Guanzon-Romorosa, Pablita Romorosa, Juliet Emperado, Noby Juno, Eufemia Sasedor, Nimshi Badrino, Keziah Faith Herbolario, Alden Macazar, Jeffrey Montaño, Konica Tracy Faustino, and Dynalin Tan.

Teresa Bernadas, owner of Teresa’s cafe, was the guest of honor at the opening program.

COVID EXHIBIT

An all-male art group exhibit, titled “Bulong – We Heal As One”, opened at the Luis Hervias National High School Quarantine Facility in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City on May 2.

The show, organized by Gilberto Nemenzo, a Covid patient, is ongoing this whole month of May. Featured are the works of Jecky Alano, Patrick Pillar, Richie Baylon, Gabriel Mendoza Gucaban, Ryan Palmos, Leo Carton, Jehru Elisan, Alfred Esparcia, Getbackers Jumawan, Steve Maquiling, Ronnie Graja, Norman Vincent Acedera, Red Nazareno, and Ningnong Acedera.*
