Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go led the turnover of P6.17 million in financial assistance from the National Housing Authority for their Emergency Housing Assistance Program in Taliambong Activity Center in Sagay City, Saturday, a press release from Sagay PIO said.
The senator spearheaded the processing of the aid that covers 617 Sagaynon families affected by Typhoon Egay last year.
Each family received financial assistance worth P10,000.
The event was also attended by actor Philip Salvador, NHA-Negros Occidental Community Support Services Chief Marissa Murillo, Vice Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva together with Councilors Lura Javelosa, Ching Javellana, and Felisa Dela Cruz, Sagay City Social Welfare and Development Office Henrik Ollano, and City Administrator Atty. Ryan Bonghanoy.
In his speech, Go urged the Sagaynons to be selfless in serving others as he assured to continue championing healthcare accessibility to the less privileged Filipinos.
He also said that his office is continuing to create more Malasakit, Specialty, and Super Health Centers across the country.
Vice Mayor Cueva thanked the senator for personally bringing the financial aid to Sagaynons and assured that the city government will continue to provide for the needs of those who were affected by calamities.
Murillo also said that this financial assistance is intended for those NHA Housing Beneficiaries affected by calamities and certain incidents.
She also urged the beneficiaries to use them properly and ensure that it will help them in improving their situation.*
