Presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos distributed on Sunday P5 million worth of financial assistance to 1,000 residents of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Mayor Renato Gustilo yesterday said some of the beneficiaries are senior citizens and victims of Typhoon Odette who did not receive assistance from the government.
Gustilo said the AICS beneficiaries were recommended by the City Social Welfare and Development Office, in coordination with the barangay captains of San Carlos City. The mayor, along with First District Rep. Gerardo Valmayor, assisted Marcos in the distribution of cash assistance at the City Auditorium.
CSWDO personnel also distributed nutrient-rich buns or “nutri-buns” to children.
Marcos thanked the 1st District of Negros Occidental, especially San Carlos City for the strong support and highest votes delivered by the local government unit in the entire Western Visayas, for her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and running mate Vice President Sara Duterte, during the May 2022 elections.
Gustilo and Valmayor also thanked Senator Marcos for the distribution of cash assistance to the underprivileged residents of San Carlos City.
At the same time, they also assured her of their continued full support to the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
