An unidentified gunman shot and killed a senior citizen on Friday in Sitio Tigmaya, Brgy. Gatuslao, Candoni, Negros Occidental.
The victim was identified by the Candoni police as Jemuel Villar Prasio Sr., 64, of Brgy. Manlocahoc, Sipalay City.
The Candoni police said Prasio, who was under the influence of liquor, was sitting alone on a bench along the road when he was shot by a still unidentified gunman.
The victim, who succumbed to a gunshot wound in the back, died on the spot, the police said.
Meanwhile, a drinking spree yesterday led to the stabbing of Marcelo Auria in Purok Daisy, Brgy. Talagacay, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
The suspect identified by the police as Ronelo Esguerra, 20, was arrested.
Initial police investigation showed that Auria and Esguerra were having a drinking spree when a heated argument ensued between them.
Esguerra stabbed Auria in the back using a bolo. Auria is now being treated for his injury at a hospital in Bacolod City.*
