
The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation and the Federation of Senior Citizens Association (FSCAP) in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, finally have a new building of their own.
Mayor Marvin Malacon and Board Member Andrew Montelibano led on Tuesday the inauguration and turnover of the two-storey building located at the E.B. Magalona public plaza, to its intended recipients.
The project was funded by the national government through the assistance of then Negros Occidental Third District Representative Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez.
The two-storey pavilion will house the new office of senior citizens on the first floor, and new office of SK Federation on the second floor.
Malacon said the pavilion becomes a symbol of leadership and service of SK officials, and a venue for meetings and socialization of senior citizens.
Leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony were SK Federation president Cheska Gwyneth Lopez and OSCA (Office of the Senior Citizens Affair) head Willie Gervacio, as assisted by Malacon, Montelibano, Engr. Geno Vito of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Negros Occidental 1st District Engineering Office, and Fr. Erly John Tayco, assistant parish priest of St. Joseph the Worker Parish of E. B. Magalona.
Also at the activity were E.B. Magalona Councilors Gilda Parcon and Wyndel Depasucat, Punong Barangays Rolando Banasig of Poblacion 3, Rosalita Arsenal of Tabigue, and Romulo Villanueva of Sto. Nino, Tumandok Youth president Matthew Louis Malacon, and Engr. Louie Marcial of DPWH NegOcc 1st DEO, among others.*
