A one-woman art exhibition titled “Shards of Dreams,” featuring the works of Negrense visual artist Ihvonie “Tey” Sevilleno in mosaic, linocut and painting, is ongoing at the Art Cove of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod and will run until June.

Sevilleno, also known as “Tey Sev,” is a visual artist and writer who thrives on solo travels and creative companionship.

Her diverse body of work includes watercolor and gouache paintings, linocut prints, and intricately crafted mosaic.

“At the heart of my work is a dream—a vision for a better, more compassionate planet. Nature serves as my constant muse, evoking emotions of aspiration, abundance, belonging, grief, joy, and love. Through my art, I reflect on how we as humans can reconnect with and care for the natural world,” Tey said in her statement.

“Linocuts are bold stories carved in silence” according to Tey Sevilleno, “it echoes the voice of the handmade in a digital world, reminding us that sometimes, the most vivid images come from the deepest cut”; right photo, “mosaics are like visual poetry made of fragments – tiny shards of stone, glass or tile that, on their own, seem ordinary, but when pieced together, tell stories that shimmer with color, texture, and time” – Sevilleno*

Since 2015, she has held solo exhibits and participated in numerous group shows across Bacolod and throughout the Philippines.

In March 2021, she co-founded Artfull, a Negrense art collective aimed at uplifting the local art scene.

Tey currently serves as a president of Art Association of Bacolod-Negros (AABN), one of the country’s longest-running art groups and the originator of Bacolod’s iconic MassKara Festival. She now leads the group as it approaches its 50th anniversary in July 2025.

She is not only an artist and writer, but also a theater actress, PR/marketing professional, and art gallery owner.*
