Shabu, guns seized in 24-hrs of police ops

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, over a span of 24-hours, conducted five drug buy-bust operations, resulting in the confiscation of P87,720 worth of shabu, 1 improvised shotgun, and a .38 caliber revolver on Thursday.

A total of P54,400 worth of suspected shabu was recovered by Silay City Police Station during an operation at Sitio Dacutan Dacu in Barangay Mambulac.

The operation led to the arrest of alias “Sir,” a 55-year-old married male and a resident of the barangay.

In a separate operation at Barangay Aguisan in Himamaylan City, live-in partners named as alias “Jaypee,” 29-years-old, and alias “Teray,” 26-years-old, were apprehended.

The police recovered from their possession a sachet of suspected shabu, an improvised shotgun, and a round of 12-gauge shotgun ammunition.

Alias “Nonoy,” a 38-year-old jobless man, was arrested at Hacienda Law-ang, Barangay Luna, in Cadiz City.

The Cadiz City Police Station was able to confiscate 4 sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P13,600 and one .38 caliber revolver during the operation.

Moreover, other operations were conducted in Bago City, where 5 individuals were nabbed, and another in Don Salvador Benedicto. With the province’s intensified manhunt operations, 4 persons with an existing warrant of arrest were apprehended.

Suspects will be facing serious criminal charges, while the seized items were brought to the Negros Occidental Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.*
