Policemen seized P170,000 worth of suspected shabu and a firearm from an arrested drug suspect during a buy-bust operation on Tuesday in Purok Mainuswagon, Brgy. Lag -asan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The arrested suspect was identified by the police as John Paul Peñol, 26, of Purok Balinghoy, Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City.
PLt. Col. Arnel Solis, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6, disclosed that Peñol is listed as a drug personality in Bago City.
The arrest of Peñol yielded about 25 grams of suspected shabu, worth P170,000, P500 in marked money, a .357 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver with three ammunition, and a motorcycle.
Initial police investigations showed that the arrested suspect allegedly engaged in peddling of illegal drugs not only in Bago City, but also neighboring Valladolid town.*
