An all-female group art exhibit is currently ongoing at the White Space Gallery at the Art District in Bacolod City, and will run until December 3.

The exhibit titled “Show Me Negros”, which opened November 12, showcases 25 art pieces of Marichel de la Torre, Anna May Torres, Armi Faith Patoc and Wen Quilisadio in watercolor and acrylic, each depicting their individual painting style, showing the beauty of the Island of Negros.

The artists have chosen subjects that are distinct to Negros such as local landmarks, endemic flowers and animals, farmworkers, among others.

“As we were getting on with the project, we felt a deep sense of connection to Negros’ past, present and future, grateful to bear witness to the vastness/richness of its natural resources and unique habitants, and proud to show the world the exquisite beauty that is always within our reach,” De la Torre said.

Guests of honor at the opening were former Art Association of Bacolod-Negros president Rodney Martinez and contemporary Negrense visual artist Charlie Co, one of the founders of Orange Project.*
