An inspection team from the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 6 recently conducted a surprise inspection and monitoring of BFP personnel in the Province of Negros Occidental, including Silay City, to ensure that these were on red alert status, in relation to the implementation of the Oplan Paalala-Iwas Paputok 2024 campaign of the Bureau of Fire Protection and the volcanic eruption of Mt. Kanlaon, a press release from Silay BFP said.
Silay City Fire Station, headed by City Fire Marshal FSupt. Rodel Legaspi, were all accounted for in the head count of its personnel. Among the inspection team were FSSupt. Gweenah Besas and FSupt. Vencie Jojo Aldeguer, who also visited the firecracker zone area at Camp Velez Football Field in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City.
The activity was to ensure the operational readiness and strict adherence to the precautionary measures of the BFP under the full alert status.*
