Three project sites of the Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation (CREC), have been recognized as top taxpayers of their respective local government units (LGUs).
The Silay City government named Citicore Negros Occidental as its number one Real Property Taxpayer for year 2023.
Negros Occidental, according to Citicore, was ranked first by the Department of Finance-Bureau of Local Government Finance (DOF-BLGF), in terms of growth in local source revenues for 2023.
In a statement, Citicore said that its project site in Toledo City in Cebu, was also cited as among the top 10 taxpayers for 2023, while the municipality of San Ildefonso in Bulacan named Citicore Solar Bulacan as its 8th top taxpayer for 2024, on January 21.
“Economic growth is a shared responsibility between government, businesses and citizens. Paying taxes properly and on time is more than an obligation – it is one of the crucial ways we help LGUs implement programs and services in our localities,” disclosed by Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation President and CEO Oliver Tan.
Energy produced by Citicore’s 10 renewable energy facilities located across the country with a combined gross installed capacity of 285MW contributes to the country’s growing power needs.
The company’s social responsibility arm Citicore Foundation also supports host communities through programs that provide education, employment, and environmental support.
Programs like Training-2-Employment facilitate skills upskilling for residents, while Balik Eskwela, Brigada Basa, and Usbong Scholarship seek to bridge learning gaps in students.
On the other hand, Citicore Environmental program CommuniTree has seen more than 13,000 seedlings planted across the country.*
