The Silay City Police Station in Negros Occidental stood tall among individual and unit awardees during the 122nd Police Service Anniversary held yesterday in Iloilo City, as it bagged three awards.
PLt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, police chief of Silay City, was adjudged as best Junior Police Commission Officer for Operations, Police Executive Master Sergeant Eric Entero, the Silay City police Supply chief, was best Senior Police Non Commissioned Officer (PNCO) for Administration, and Police Senior Master Sgt. Cristopher Panes, also of Silay City PNP, was best Junior PNCO for Operations.
Darroca, Entero, and Panes also received similar recognitions during the 122nd Police Service Anniversary on August 11, which was held at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr., in Bacolod City.
PNP chief Benjamin Acorda led the distribution of awards to outstanding police units and individuals, which also included PCol. Leo Pamittan, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, as Best PCO for Operations, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office as best Provincial Police Office in Western Visayas, Bacolod City Police Office as Best City Police Office, and the 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, as best Mobile Force Company in Region 6.
Both the NOCPPO and BCPO are national awardees.
In his speech, Acorda congratulated the individual and police unit awardees. “Just do your job, and you will be recognized,” he told the awardees and other members of the Police Regional Office 6, headed by PBrig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor.
During the recent Police Service Anniversary held at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr in Bacolod City, the Silay City Police Station got eight awards.
The Silay City Police Station was named Best Component City Police Station, and with having the most number of anti-illegal drugs operations, Darroca as Best Junior PCO for Operation, PMaj. Rhea Sarah Villanueva, deputy police chief, as Best Junior PCO for Administration, Entero as Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration, Panes, as Best Junior PCO for Operations, PSSg. Danilo Villaflorida, as Best Junior PNCO for Administration, while a special award was also given to Ma. Sheila Mae Inot, as Best WCPD Investigator.*
