A Negrense artist recently won the grand prize of Dh50,000 (equivalent to about P700,000) at a mural competition in Dubai.
Nemar Precioso Sencil, 31, of Silay City, Negros Occidental was the grand prize winner at the 4th Edition of the Waterfront Market’s Mural and Art Competition in Dubai in celebration of UAE’s golden jubilee.
Sencil is currently employed at Ramen Art in Dubai as a graphic designer/animator.
The judges were unanimous in their decision to award Sencil’s entry titled “History of the Future” the grand prize. The mural is permanently displayed at The Waterfront Market.
Sencil said he is honored that his mural, which depict UAE’s transformational journey from a desert to a country that represents modernity and forward thinking, is permanently displayed at The Waterfront Market.
Now on its fourth year, The Waterfront Market Murals and Art Competition aims to inspire the community and encourage budding artists and art enthusiasts throughout UAE to engage with the wider creative community.*
