The Silay United Group of Artists (SUGA) opened a group art exhibition at the Conrad Judith Gallery, Silay Artspace and Showroom Center at the old Puericulture Center in Silay City, that will run from June 1 to 30.
Guests of honor at the opening were Silay Vice Mayor Thomas Maynard Ledesma, artist/sculptor Rafael “Paeng” Paderna, a past president of the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros, Hiliugyon Foundation president Remo Soriano, and Tourism consultant Ver Pacete.
Titled “Karnabal: a Circus of Life”, the show features the works of France Louis Asejo, Kyle Christian Britanico, Rainer Cosas, Mitsui Corpus, Julian Flores, Henry John Golez, Sony Golez, Alvin Infante, Raymond Justado, Louie Lopez, and Jehu Peria.
Through the art exhibit, the artists try delve into the roller coaster ride of human existence, comparing life to a vibrant carnival, which embodies both exhilarating highs and lows.
In this collection, they also capture the essence of this emotional journey, where moments of pure joy co-exist with trials of sorrow.
“By embracing the ups and downs, our art reflects the intricate tapestry of human experience, inviting viewers to connect with the profound truth that is within life’s paradoxical nature that we find in our true selves. By immersing ourselves in this whimsical spectacle, we learn to embrace the extraordinary dichotomy of the human spirit, finding solace and growth within the intricate dance between light and darkness, happiness and heartaches,” the artists said in a statement.
