To boost tourism attractions through sports activities and species identification, the Tourism Office of the City of Sipalay held its 2nd Game Fishing Tournament on June 24 to 26.
This event was in partnership with the Sipalay City Anglers Club and saw the participation of anglers from all over Negros Island and Sipalay locals.
The game fishing tournament was composed of three categories: professional jiggers, hand line fishing and shoreline fishing.
In collaboration with City Environment and Natural Resources, it is also another way to identify the existing species of fishes in waters of Sipalay for educational purposes and information dissemination.
Tourism Officer Jerick Lacson is manifesting to have the same activity in the coming years. He also thanked the event’s partners and sponsors, especially the participants.
The activity was concluded with the awarding of the winners and participants, along with the acknowledgement of their efforts for joining the game fishing activity.*
