To accelerate the investigation of the “Bornales Siblings” case, where three siblings who were minors were mauled inside their house at Hacienda Badiang, Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOcPPO) has formed a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG).
NOcPPO Director PCol. Dennis Wenceslao will serve as the commander of the SITG, under the supervision of Deputy Regional Director for Operations (DRDO) PCol. Lito Patay.
“Rest assured, we will resolve this case,” Wenceslao assured in an interview.
Silay City Mayor Joedith Gallego urged the neighborhood to not be afraid to cooperate with authorities by providing vital information that can help speed up the investigation.
He assured the public that those who assist in solving the case will be protected by the city government.
A bounty of P100,000 is being offered by local officials for anyone who can identify the persons behind the brutal attack.
On Saturday, the victims’ father was returning home from work and found the three minors inside their room having sustained multiple injuries.
The 9-year-old daughter succumbed to her injuries, while the 14-year-old daughter and the 4-year-old son are currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
Gallego confirmed that the 4-year-old boy is now conscious, while the 14-year-old girl remains unconscious after undergoing a skull operation. She is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital.
The mayor also dismissed the possibility that the victims’ father may have been involved in the crime, citing that he was in Bacolod City for work the entire week.
He added that he plans to meet with the victims’ mother to discuss the financial assistance that the city will provide, as well as donations sent by concerned individuals to the mayor’s office.*
