The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested three drug suspects, including two classified as High-Value Individuals (HVIs), following a buy-bust operation in Barangay 2, Bacolod City, early Monday morning, January 19.
The operation, launched at approximately 12:09 a.m. in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, resulted in the seizure of roughly 105 grams of suspected shabu worth P714,000.
Police identified the primary suspects as 23-year-old alias ‘Joven,’ a Sangguniang Kabataan kagawad of Barangay 12, and 19-year-old alias ‘Jessie’ of Barangay 10, both of whom are classified by police as high-value individuals, and 18-year-old alias ‘John Mark’ of Barangay 9, who is identified as a Street-Level Individual.
After a successful transaction with a poseur-buyer, the Police Station 2 Drug Enforcement and Intelligence Teams executed the sting, moving in to apprehend the trio and secure the evidence.
Police recovered 15 sachets of suspected illegal drugs and one large knot-tied transparent plastic bag containing approximately 105 grams of the illegal substance.
Also recovered were a genuine P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, nine pieces of P1,000 boodle money, two coin purses, and a sling bag.
The three suspects are currently detained at the Police Station 2 custodial facility where they face formal charges for the sale and possession of illegal substances under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
