Skeletal remains discovered in Kabankalan, fisherman found dead

The skeletal remains of a missing person were discovered in Barangay Camansi, Kabankalan City, while a fisherman was found dead on May 31 at the shoreline of Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Initial police investigations indicated that alias Joji, 19, a resident of Sitio Bayog, Brgy. Camansi, Kabankalan City, has been reported missing since May 5 by his father, Joey.

The skeletal remains were discovered by a certain alias Gino, while he was gathering firewood at Purok 1 in Brgy. Camansi, Kabankalan City.

Before the victim had gone missing, Joey told the police that his son was suffering from depression.

A 42-year-old fisherman identified by the police only as alias Ruben, was found dead along the shoreline of Purok II in Brgy. Saraet, Himamaylan City, on Saturday.

Prior to discovery of the cadaver, the victim was reported to be engaged in a drinking session with his neighbor on Friday night.

According to the Himamaylan City police, the victim may have fallen from the seaport and his body hit the rocks along the shoreline. He was found with bruises on his head.

The Himamaylan City police has already requested a post mortem examination to determine the cause of death of the victim.*
