SM Foundation, in partnership with SM City Bacolod, extended assistance to families affected by a residential fire in Barangay 10 through its Operation Tulong Express (OPTE) program.
The relief activity was conducted following the fire incident that occurred on January 24, which affected households in the area. The on-ground distribution was led by the SM City Bacolod team headed by its assistant mall manager, Lorenzo Benedicto, in coordination with barangay officials led by Barangay Captain Melvin Bravo.
A total of 55 families were identified as beneficiaries and received relief goods during the activity. On-site coordination was carried out to ensure the orderly and proper distribution of assistance.
“We coordinated closely with barangay officials for this Operation Tulong Express activity,” Benedicto said. “The aim was to help ensure that the identified families received the support provided during this relief effort.”
Operation Tulong Express is a social good program of SM Foundation, implemented in partnership with SM Supermalls and SM Markets, aimed at providing support to communities during calamities and crises.*
