Some 680 Bacolod residents received free medical and dental care during a recently held outreach mission at SM City Bacolod, spearheaded by the SM Foundation in partnership with the Bacolod City Health Office (CHO), a press release from SM City Bacolod said.
The initiative focused on providing vital healthcare services to underserved individuals, particularly those identified by the City Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) as most in need.
Medical professionals from the CHO conducted consultations and assessments, while dental services such as check-ups and extractions were also offered on-site. In addition, SM Foundation’s mobile health clinic provided a range of diagnostic tests, including X-rays, ECG (electrocardiogram), and basic blood screenings for sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, and hemoglobin levels.
The activity is part of SM Foundation’s long-running health advocacy, “Gamot Para sa Kapwa,” which brings accessible and inclusive healthcare directly to communities across the country.
“Our mission is to help address the healthcare needs of those with limited access, especially in areas where SM operates,” said Dr. Bles Bertos, SM Foundation’s Senior Project Manager for Health and Wellness. “We are grateful to our partners in the city government for helping make this outreach a success.”*
