The owner of a food catering business in Bacolod City issued a public statement to apologize to those affected by the incident during the mayor’s State of the City Address at the Bacolod City Government Center grounds on July 5.
It was earlier reported in the media that the lengua estofado that was served by one of the four caterers during the SOCA, was allegedly stale.
Darwin Catañeda, chef/owner of Big Belly Food To Go, said the matter was never intended. “We will continue to extend our gesture and willingness to personally hear from you to know more about what really happened. As much as we value our business, we value your opinion more with the end view of improving our services.”
Castañeda also sought the understanding of the public as they dig deeper into the cause or other causes of the alleged incident.
“For more than half a decade in the food business, we too wish to continue and make a legacy. Rest assured that since the start of our business, we have always considered the best and safest preparations, and that we never wanted to put in jeopardy the business that not only caters to the public, but also provides for the livelihood and food of families who rely in its success and continuity,” he said.
Whatever the factors that may have caused the incident, they will see to it that necessary improvements will be given top priority, he added.
Catañeda also thanked Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez for giving them the time and opportunity to explain their side regarding the issue.*
