The House of Representatives Committee on Transportation has approved the proposed bill of Rep. Francisco Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) to establish a Land Transportation district office in EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.
House Bill No. 8034 aims to fast-track the applications for driver’s license and registration of vehicles within the 3rd district, comprising the municipalities of EB Magalona and Murcia, and the cities of Silay, Talisay and Victorias.
The family of former Negros Occidental Board Member Gary Acuña donated a 2,000 square-meter lot in Brgy. Tabigue, EB Magalona, to be the site of the new LTO office.
Mayor Marvin Malacon earlier said the establishment of the LTO office in EB Magalona will bring the necessary services of LTO closer to constituents in the 3rd district and other neighboring cities and towns in the 2nd district of Negros Occidental.
It will also decongest the overflowing clients at the LTO-Bacolod office. Malacon also thanked the Acuña family for their generosity.*
