A 44-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with an approaching vehicle on Tuesday evening along the National Road, Barangay Marina, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
Initial investigation revealed that a Hyundai vehicle driven by the 57-year-old businessman alias ‘Joy’ was traveling from Binalbagan towards Kabankalan City.
Meanwhile, the motorcycle driven by the victim, alias ‘Joe’ was travelling from the opposite direction as it encroached into the lane of the Hyundai, resulting in a collision.
Due to the impact, the motorcycle driver sustained multiple injuries and was brought to Binalbagan Infirmary where he was declared dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, the other driver did not sustain any injuries, and was brought together with the vehicles involved in the crash to Binalbagan PNP for proper disposition.
HINIGARAN
Hours later, another motorcycle crash occurred along the National Highway, Sitio Cadulunan, Barangay Camba-og, Hinigaran which landed one victim in the hospital.
Investigation revealed that the Rusi motorcycle driven by the victim, alias ‘Rey,’ 23, was travelling from Barangay Camba-og going to Pontevedra town proper when it bumped into the rear portion of another motorcycle that was parked in the outer lane of the road, facing south direction.
As a result, the driver, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident, fell on the pavement of the road and sustained injuries in different parts of his body.
Both vehicles incurred damage and were brought to Hinigaran PNP for proper disposition.*
