A resolution requesting information from the Philippine Ports Authority regarding the ongoing reclamation activities at Banago Port in Bacolod City, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod on Wednesday.
Authored by Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, the resolution said it has come to the attention of the Sangguniang Panlungsod that there are ongoing reclamation activities taking place at Banago Port.
There is a need to understand the scope and purpose of these reclamation activities, including compliance with legal requirements and prior approval of the local government unit (LGU), it said.
To request information from the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) concerning the ongoing reclamation activities at the Banago Port, especially their scope and purpose, including the compliance thereof with legal requirements and prior approval of the LGU, the resolution said.
Copies of the resolution will be furnished to the PPA and Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA).*
