A resolution congratulating the Bacolod Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade for being the champion in the 10th TXTFIRE Olympics last May 19 at SM Mall of Asia, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday.
The resolution jointly moved by Councilors Cindy Rojas and Al Victor Espino, said the Bacolod Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade (BCVFB) is a Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry located in the City of Bacolod.
It is a non-government firefighting unit that responds to fire calls, rescue, and medical services in the city and a member of the TXTFIRE Philippines Foundation Inc., the resolution said.
TXTFIRE Philippines Foundation Inc., is a non-government organization that focuses on conducting rescue operations, disseminating fire reports to different fire brigades, and educating the public about fire safety, it said.
Every year, they conduct a TXTFIRE Olympics for the brigade members, where the purpose of the event is to evaluate the prowess and readiness of our brigades in a variety of emergency scenarios, the resolution said.
In this year’s TXTFIRE Olympics, there were a total of 37 participants in the competition and that Bacolod Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade (BCVFB) has emerged as the champion, it said.
Through their dedication and determination, Bacolod Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade brings pride to the City of Bacolod by winning the championship, the resolution added.*
