A resolution commending and congratulating PCG Commodore Christine Pauline Bergaño-Diciano for being an awardee of The Outstanding Women in Nation’s Service of 2025 for Maritime Law Enforcement and Public Service, was unanimously approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday.
Principally authored by Councilor Jason Villarosa, the resolution said PCG Christine Pauline Bergaño-Diciano is a homegrown Bacolodnon hailing from Barangay Sum-ag, daughter of former Brgy. Sum-ag kagawad Dominador Bergaño, and has efficiently and convincingly dedicated 24 years of service in the Philippine Coast Guard.
She is the only first female Commander of the Coast Guard Aviation Force, the first and only female PCG Air Station Commander under West Philippine Sea Oplan Matatag, and the youngest female commander in Philippine military or law enforcement aviation, it said.
In a ceremony in Pasay City on October 22, Bergaño-Diciano was given The Outstanding Women in Nation’s Service or TOWNS Award this year, the resolution said.
The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) Award is a prestigious recognition given every three years to exceptional Filipino women for their transformative contributions to society. It honors those who have excelled in fields such as science, public service, arts, and entrepreneurship, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to improving the Philippines, it said.
It is through this resolution that the city congratulates, commends, and sends its highest regard to PCG Commodore Christine Pauline Bergaño-Diciano for being honored as one of the Top Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service, it added.*
