A resolution commending and congratulating Sum-ag National High School Management Team for being recognized as the 2024 Regional Winner of the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday.
The resolution authored by Councilor Em Ang said the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VI (CSC RO VI) awarded 31 regional winners and five semi-finalists of the during the Civil Service Commission’s search for outstanding Government workers, Pasidungog 2024 held at the Zuri Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City on September 17.
Out of 63 nominations, 31 were selected by the Regional Committee on Awards as regional winners in the Civil Service Commission Pagasa, Dangal ng Bayan, and Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award Categories. Out of 31, five were selected as semi-finalists in the national level, and three eventually made it as national winners, it said.
The Sum-ag National High School Management Team (SNHS-MT) composed of Nerissa N. Catong – Teacher III, Office-in-Charge, Tech-Voc Program, Annablle G. Villaruel – Master Teacher II, STE Program, Clara A. Tigallo – Head Teacher IV, Farm School Program, Osward P. Acebedo – Assistant Principal II and Dr. Warlito D. Rosareal – Principal IV, was awarded as the Regional Winner under the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award amongst 31 nominees, the resolution said.
The Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award according to the Civil Service Commission is the highest recognition for state workers for their exceptional contributions through innovative ideas or impactful actions of national significance. The innovative programs of Sum-ag National High School are, the Science, Technology, and Engineering Program (STE-P), Strengthened Technical Vocational Education Program (STVEP) and the Senior High School Modeling Program, it said.
Due to the unwavering dedication of the Sum-ag National High School Management team led by their school principal Dr. Warlito D. Rosareal, Bacolod city received the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award since 1942. Their dedication to public education substantiated through their innovations and strategic initiatives significantly contributed to greater educational opportunities to the school and the community, the resolution said.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod joins the whole city in commending Sum-ag National High School Management Team who has made Bacolodnons proud and for being a recipient of the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, it said.*
