SP recognizes Capitol union officials

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental issued a resolution during its regular session on August 15, recognizing the new set officers of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees.

Engr. Ruben Diamante leads the new set of PACE officers.

Nine of 11 PACE board directors ousted Renelo Lastierre as president of the Capitol union employees during an emergency meeting on July 21.

Four days after, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson administered the oathtaking of new set of PACE officers led by Diamante.

Lastierre, who questioned his removal, said he will  seek the opinion of the Civil Service Commission, maintaining that it was a violation of the constitution and by-laws of PACE.*
