A resolution interposing no objection to the request of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the conversion of some city streets to national roads was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Tuesday.
Councilor Renecito Novero manifested his abstention.
Councilor Al Victor Espino said the intention of the DPWH for the conversion is to allow them to use national funds for the maintenance, rehabilitation and repair of those roads.
The city roads, which acting City Engineer Loben Rafael Ceballos requested to be converted to national roads are P. Hernaez Street (junction of Bacolod Murcia Road-Yulo Street), Lacson Street (junction of Lizares Street-Magsaysay Street), Burgos Street (junction of Lacson Street-San Juan-Mambulok Bridge) and (junction of Mambulok Bridge – BREDCO Port entrance), B.S. Aquino Drive (junction of San Juan Street – Burgos Street) and Lopez Jaena Street (junction of B.S. Aquino Drive-Burgos Street), and Burgos Street – Hernaez Street.*
