An ordinance prescribing the rules and regulations for the use of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences for Education and Sports (MICES) Building in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, was recently passed by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod on first reading.
Authored by Councilor Jason Villarosa, the proposed ordinance to be known as the “Meetings, Incentives, Conferences for Education and Sports (MICES) Building Ordinance,” provides for the creation of the MICES Committee and their duties. The committee will be headed by the City Mayor.
The MICES Building will be available for use during weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with confirmed reservations on a first-come-first-serve basis. Requests for its use will be in writing, setting forth among others, the type of activity, its duration, and the number of participants, it said.
The rates to be imposed will be formulated by the MICES Committee and will be dependent on the following factors: number of participants; type of activity, program, or event; duration of the activity; and use of facilities such as lights, air conditioning, and janitorial assistance, the ordinance said.*
