A resolution expressing the sincere gratitude and appreciation of the Bacolod City Government to the civil society organizations and private donors who extended their kindness, generosity, and compassion through the provision of emergency relief goods, cash and other material assistance to the survivors of the fire incident that occurred on September 12 in Barangay 27, was approved by Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.
Authored by Councilor Em Ang, the resolution said that on Sept. 12, a devastating fire erupted in Brgy. 27, Bacolod City, causing widespread destruction and displacing over 984 residents.
The Bacolod City Government together with its disaster management and social welfare units, immediately responded to the plight of the affected families and individuals, it said.
Various civil society organizations and private donors have shown exemplary compassion and solidarity by extending emergency relief goods, cash donations, and other forms of assistance to aid the survivors in their time of need, the resolution said.
The acts of kindness and generosity exhibited by these organizations and individuals reflect the spirit of bayanihan and community unity that Bacolod City upholds, it added.*
