The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is requesting Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez through the City Health Office, to mobilize the barangay dengue task force in all 61 barangays to come up with their dengue action plan for the prevention and control of dengue in Bacolod City.
The resolution authored by Councilor Claudio Jesus Raymundo Puentevella said that based on data gathered by the City Health Office, there are a total of 40 dengue cases in the City of Bacolod recorded from January 12 to 18, which is 29.0 percent higher than that of last year’s covering the same period with 31 cases and zero deaths.
The barangays with the highest number of cases are Villamonte – 6, Mandalagan – 5, Tangub – 4, Singcang and Estefania with 3 cases each, it said.
The barangay dengue task force should monitor and take the lead in making a barangay action plan for the prevention and control of dengue cases in the city, the resolution said.*
